What is What Goes into the Mind

Scripture Tells Us to Mind Our Minds

We’re excited to be a part of the Christian Product Industry’s “What Goes Into the Mind Comes Out in a Life”™ national consumer awareness campaign!  We have joined in the campaign because we agree Paul’s admonition in Philippians 4:8:

Paul encourages us to think about whatever is true, noble, right, pure, lovely, and admirable; he says to think on anything excellent or praiseworthy to help focus our minds toward God. Otherwise, our minds will be on earthly things, with our stomach our god and shame our glory.

We want to be here with life-changing resources for those who are seeking the values and spiritual strength the campaign promotes—we want to join in making them aware of the resources we carry.

Scriptures Tell Us to Mind Our Minds

The Bible tells us to think about what we’re thinking to protect us from evil and to keep focused on God.

In Philippians 4:8, Paul encourages us to think about whatever is true, noble, right, pure, lovely, and admirable; he says to think on anything excellent or praiseworthy to help focus our minds toward God. Otherwise, our minds will be on earthly things, with our stomach our god and shame our glory.

In Romans 12:2, Paul warns us not to be conformed any longer to the pattern of this world, “but be transformed by the renewing of your mind” (NIV).

Jesus cautions us in Matthew 5:28 to beware that even what we look at can cause us to sin, and He encourages us in Matthew 5:8 that the pure in heart will see God. In Proverbs 4:23, the Bible tells us to, above all else, guard our heart, for it’s the wellspring of life.

Christian resources teach truths, build values, encourage faith, and shape lives.

The “What Goes Into the Mind Comes Out in a Life”™ saying admonishes us to feed our minds with the fuel of God’s Word and will. It also highlights the uniqueness of what Christian stores offer.

Christian retailers see their work as supporting Christ’s kingdom by providing books, music, videos, Bibles, gifts, and more as tools to help Christians lead the good life, to fight the good fight, and run the race in such a way as to win the prize—the prize of presence today in God’s kingdom. Christian retailers also want to help seekers learn more about the God of love and His plan for each of their lives. Because Christian retailers pray, many people looking for God have found Him in a Christian store.

‘What Goes Into the Mind Comes Out in a Life’™ is much more than just a slogan. It’s a way of life. We firmly believe that what we read, listen to, and look at impact the way we live our lives—and the lives of those around us.

What’s so exciting about the national “What Goes Into the Mind Comes Out in a Life”™ campaign is it allows more people to know about the many Christ-centered, life-changing resources available. These are materials that help people face real-life issues—like parenting, relationships, finances, spiritual growth, work issues, and more—from a biblical perspective.

Recent distribution of church resource guides is a way to help people know more about available resources that teach about the Bible and apply biblical values to contemporary life issues.
